WHY THIS VIRTUAL LIBRARY MATTERS
Every president from Herbert Hoover forward is represented within the National Archives Presidential
Library system. The presidents who shaped America’s first 150 years are not. The Center for the
American Presidency at Long Island University serves as a presidential home for America’s first 150 years.
Through archives, education, scholarship, research, and immersive experiences, the Center preserves the
stories, leadership, and ideas of the American presidency.
